CUCULA โ Refugees Company for Crafts and Design is a Berlin based project model enabling refugees to create a future career for themselves.
CUCULA sees itself as an artistic experimental space, as an experimental manufactory, as a laboratory for design and education and as a platform for intercultural exchange. At the beginning of 2014, the project started off as a campaign in an initially utopian approach: within the โRefugees Company for Crafts and Designโ new ways and solution proposals for education- and formation approaches of refugees were researched. As a start-up in combination with a broad educational programme, the Utopian should take shape. In the meantime, the Berlin project has developed into a real business and as a manufactory it produces design furniture based on the designs by Enzo Mari.
The collective creative production and the flan field of education establish specific perspectives for the international trainees, how they can achieve stabilisation and find a way into professional training, even under difficult circumstances.
